Material Order Example…

DEL recently was approached to carry out a roofing measurement for a self-build project. The Client required a roofing material schedule so they could place orders. The roofing was required to both the house and the adjoining garage. The Report was split into sections: Timber, slating, Velux, insulation and materials that would be required from the builder’s merchant. We displayed all measures and included a margin for material wastage. We issued the report in both PDF and Excel so the Client could add his budgets and returned prices into the prepared Excel spreadsheet. DEL were happy to facilitate and carried out the following:

  • Upload PDF drawings to the electronic measurement system
  • Scale check all drawings
  • Measure all roofing materials such as –
    • Timber rafters
    • Wall plates
    • Purlins
    • Binders
    • Bracing
    • Valley rafters
    • Valley boarding
    • Battens
    • Fascia and soffit boarding
